Cryotherapy is used in footcare to destroy Verrucas. Verrucas are often very difficult to remove and Cryotherapy is another means of attack to get rid of the virus. The device freezes the verruca creating ice particles in the lower surface of the skin below the verruca and damaging the infected cells. The thawing process also damages the cells and the immune system kicks in to start to destroy the verruca virus while it has been weakened. Sometimes two or three treatments may be needed but many find it preferable to daily cream or acid treatments which often need to be repeated for months.
